Pros
Consistent 40 Hours, decent healthcare, & clean/organized work environment. Union contract!
Cons
-Toxic chemicals in the air and in environment. -6 months probation. -Popularity contest. -1 year pay scale. -Safety managers & supervisors act like they care but hands are tied by upper management. -Lack of flexibility when it comes to scheduling. -They retaliate against you if you take sick days or if you complain to management about safety issues. -Their maintenance team can't fix the machines which leads to a lot of vigorous cleaning and down time. -Protected by union contract but the employer still has all the power, grievance process is extremely long; 6mos to a year. There is no workplace culture and even the employees don't like each other and are constantly talking behind each others backs. -Impossible to please anyone no matter how much effort you put in or how well you complete duties & tasks. -Constantly short staffed! They expect you to run multiple complex machines at the same time whilst also completing complicated and tedious quality checks and paperwork. -You do 2-3 times the work for the less $$ than non-probationary employees! Even after you pass probation you are still doing the duties and responsibilities of 2-3 workers for the same hourly wage essentially pulling double duty! -They have 5 lines and 2-3 operators at the start and 2-3 at the end of line. It's extremely challenging and unsafe to operate machinery in this manner.
