Pros

Good pay Good teammates Decent Tech Work-life balance -fair

Cons

- Leadership is clueless. They have no idea what they are doing - Layoffs when they don't know what to do .... It's funny to see some people from Hover say its a 2023 strategy to lay off so many people. The reality is Hover has no clue what they are doing. Esp Engineering is the most reckless I have seen in my career. - Products or tech stacks are decided on a whim - For a 300+ people company they behave like a 5 people company with no processes in place - Leadership knows nothing about what the teams are doing - Nasty Engineering leader who treats people really badly. I know at least a few people who left cz of him - Engineering group has no idea what they are doing - VC money not judiciously used. The hard truth- Basically, they don't have a real product and have lavish aspirations to do something big, and in the process are making bad decisions.

HOVER Response

We understand that it can be challenging to not have insight into all aspects of decision-making when it comes to large scale events such as layoffs. However, those decisions were made as thoughtfully and compassionately as possible and with HOVER’s 2023 strategic plan and future success in mind. Additionally, we thank you for your feedback regarding areas where you believe there could be improvements made. We would appreciate the chance to work directly with you to address these opportunities and encourage you to meet with your People Business Partner to provide further feedback.

Pros

Management will not tell you how to do your job They (everyone) are open to ideas, just need a good pitch A bunch of smart people wherever you look

Cons

You will rarely chat with the top 3 layers of the organization. They are open and can chat with them, but truth is that they are always busy and the preferred way of communication is through your manager.

Pros

The people are great, it's what makes the company special. Exciting traction in the market to go with it.

Cons

Prioritization is a struggle, and Hover will always jump at large customer requests without thinking through all the implications. Projects that might take longer than a quarter are rarely prioritized.
