Pros
Whether you have come to HMS in an entry level position, a service position, or a management position, HMS has so much to offer. There are little perks like picnics and parties; a beautiful office location (inside and out), available tickets to local attractions like the Maryland Zoo, he B&O Railroad Museum and the Maryland Science Center; opportunities to participate as a team in local charity events; gym subsidies and fresh fruit Fridays. Then there are financial perks like competitive salaries, bonuses, paid-time-off, 401k match and great health benefits. But the best "Pros" come in the opportunity to advance in a highly skilled environment and be a part of a successful agency. You don't have to worry about training, HMS will provide the training you need if you are hard working and dedicated to being a member of the team. It has been proven time and again. Many of the current management began at lower level positions. It takes career commitment, but the opportunity is definitely there.
Cons
In a time of high-tech communication, it's a little ironic that HMS has not quite been able to master office communication. I think the problem lies in varying opinions of what should or shouldn't be communicated. Management seem to take seriously when employees express a need for improvement, so I have faith that this will only improve over time.
