Pros

Fully remote work is allowed for most positions

Cons

Really toxic culture. Some departments are led by managers that really should not be in a supervisor role/require significant training in how to manage others. Unfounded finger-pointing and unfair treatment of subordinate employees. The company's "values" are BS - they do not practice what they preach. There is also a complete lack of diversity (ESPECIALLY IN COMPANY LEADERSHIP), it is shameful.

All employees at HMP work a hybrid schedule or are fully remote except for few roles that need to be in-office to accomplish. Approximately 47% of the workforce is remote. We have employees in 28 different states. We have very different views on how the organization is managed. The average length of service at HMP Global is 7 years and our turnover rate is 50% less than the national average, and we have been voted a Best Workplace two years in a row. Unfortunately, Glassdoor does not verify the validity of reviews or if you have ever worked at HMP Global. There is an internal employee engagement platform which enables all current employees to speak with us anonymously to address concerns or issues. You may also communicate directly with any member of the management team, including the CEO. If you are having an issue with your manager, or had an issue in the past, please contact us. We have an open-door policy, allowing any concerns about treatment made directly to Human Resources confidentially and without fear of reprisal. HMP Global has a very formal management training program which is delivered via the senior management team.

Pros

I recently rejoined HMP Global after spending time at another organization, and my experience throughout the process has reinforced why I originally enjoyed working here. The team culture is genuinely supportive, and there’s a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork across departments. At HMP, I have experienced a positive and encouraging work environment, leadership that values employee wellness and growth, and a healthy work-life balance. I have personally found my colleagues to be both driven and approachable, which makes a huge difference in my day to day conversations. The one word I have used consistently to describe my career at HMP: Thriving!

Cons

As with any evolving organization, there can be periods of transition that require flexibility, adaptability, and understanding.

Pros

Some genuine employees worked there.

Cons

A challenging workplace environment with inconsistent structure and support. Expectations were not always clearly communicated, and employees were often required to navigate responsibilities without sufficient training or guidance. Communication from leadership could at times feel dismissive rather than constructive, which impacted morale and overall team experience. While there were moments of effort toward improvement, the overall environment often felt disorganized and lacking in consistent support for employees.
