Pros

I've been with HMH Dublin for almost 3.5 years now. Started as a contractor for 6 months then elected to join the team here permanently. There are many pros to working here, for me the key ones are: 1. The people. HMH Engineering is a great team of talented, hard-working people, who make time for a lot of fun along the way. 2. The location. I commute by train to Pearse and it's 3 minutes from the platform to my desk. Very hard to beat. 3. The focus on learning, especially peer-to-peer learning. There are few companies who support these types of programmes in the workplace and I have found them incredibly useful and rewarding. 4. The flexibility and benefits. As we are in the summer months, it's "summer hours" time ..... giving you the ability get an extra 5 days off. 5. Respect for Dublin hours. Yes, it's a US company, but if you work in Dublin you work GMT hours. Having worked in other US companies in Dublin I know that's not always the case.

Cons

We still have a legacy of some older tech that we are working our way through but that is continually decreasing over time. We need more talented people to join our team so that we can deliver even more for our customers.

Pros

The engineers at HMH are incredibly experienced, and during my time as an intern, I always had a learning moment from my fellow engineers. The people provide a great working and learning community and are very warm and approachable.

Cons

For people who are stepping into the industry, such as myself, it can be challenging to manage multiple projects with various deadlines at once. It is best to use a calendar application to block out adequate time for each project throughout the work week.
