Pros

Teach how to weld in new process. They bought us Chick-Fil-A once.

Cons

HII bought W International after countless delays and attempted to keep some of the rules from previous management but did not communicate effectively what is and isn't okay from prior. There is zero communication between upper, middle, and lower management, leading absolutely everyone to be clueless as to what to do or where to be. They mandated training to all employees, then had about half the people retake some portion of the classes after losing about 50 tests. Upon completion of these classes, I was sent to the floor and given zero instruction what to do. Turns out, I was supposed to be training for a new welding process I had never done before and was given zero communication, despite having my name on the list. I got there 3 days late after a coworker messaged me one morning asking why I hadn't been coming. When I got there, I had about 6 days to practice before testing to reach the floor and start working on critical work pieces for the Navy. Apparently the some $80 million they are using to renovate doesn't include standard ventilation systems as the warehouse we tested in has absolutely nothing but three fans outside of the booths doing nothing but pushing stale air through the aisles. Many of the staff from W International, myself included, missed out on annual reviews which would have given us a pay raise. HII gave us all an extra .42 per hour to "make up" for this. This place is somehow run worse than W International was, which is a monumental accomplishment considering how well-established HII is as a company.

Pros

Remote Work, Flex Schedule, Benefits are decent enough.

Cons

It is very much a boys club between management, leads, and HR. HR is there to protect the company, not you. The moment you have something crazy happen (and you will because most people in positions of power are old retired navy guys who cant even work a computer usually and would rather praddle on about "the good ole days") and you report it to HR, you immediately will be retaliated against, even when HR says you wont. Its tough to say how you wont when they immediately inform your supervisor. I also hate how they are an "inclusive" company, and yet I have been called more slurs and received more backlash for being LGBT when its not even being presented, I just want to log in, work, ask questions, log off.
