Pros
1) Great work culture - Your manager will not ask you to work in the stuff other than your domain. I am automation test engineer and I am not allowed to work in manual testing engineer. great stuff 2) great opportunities within hcl, when you are in bench you can ask for non USA projects or onsite opportunity, if you are lucky enough you might get short term onsite too. however there are less than 10 non USA projects. 3) Great learning in HCL too. 4) Need not come to office in bench. 5) Great work life balance, you are asked to work on weekends very rarely, even if you work on weekend (that too wfm of 2 hours) there is an weekend allowance of 750 rupees. 6) Good employee benefits like medi assist for self and family. 7) hcl will not give you hike when you are in, but there is a policy that if you resign hr calls for salary hike of even 40% to retain you which is not there in most other companies. there are many guys who puts papers and still stay in hcl. overall hcl is a employee friendly company
Cons
1)forget onsite to USA if you are less than a team leader (test engineer or senior test engineer) managers will not proceSS H1B for you if you are less than a team leader. 2) Sometimes, Onsite opportunity and promotion is only for those who are friendly to managers and not for those who perform 3) yearly hike of only 5% every year hcl is a good company if you enter with a very good package and you are ok with a yearly hike of 5 % every year 4) during yearly appraisal you are asked by the manager Do you want the hike OR designation ? if you say you want designation, then you might get promoted but with a yearly hike of only 2-3%. if you say you want hike, you will get hike of 5%
