Pros
1. Good place start your career and learn the core technologies. 2. Cab facility is free of cost and very good. 3. Appraisals are good who have given extraordinary performances. Appraisals are much better than big companies in India according to me. Having said that, usually first year appraisals are more and decline as you stay more years.
Cons
1. Salary is very less. 2. Everyone in HCL call it a Gov company because process is very slow - To get a laptop, you might need to wait months. To get anything done for any tools/PC issues, IT dept will respond after a week. Even if their managers are in the email chain for escalating the issues, they don't respond either. They act as if they've seen the email or not. 3. Cafeteria is worst. No stalls are open during night shifts and no proper food during day time. 4. WPC team is very rude. No proper communication and email etiquettes. 5. No night shift allowances. 6. Exceptional performers will get promotions with more additional work but with same pay and no salary change and no designation change. Designation change happens only during appraisal or when band changes every 3 years.
