Pros

Nice facilities Good co-workers Decent benefits Decent pay

Cons

*Good ole boy culture runs rampant *Corporate being next door to branch leads to meddling in every aspect, from operations to hiring. *Tenured employees aren’t held accountable. The same poor behavior is never corrected. For that matter, hardly anyone is held accountable. *Old 1980’s management model of belittling and name calling. Toxic environment. * Although employee retention is supposedly a point of emphasis, the turnover continues to get worse and worse. * Absolutely zero cross training for employees. If there is a resignation, that person’s job function ceases until another hire is made. * No obvious career advancement opportunities. No managers are “building their bench” to replace them as they move on/up. * Training non-existent other than manufacturer mandated training. * The entire location has forgotten what “customer service” is. It’s all about the bottom line. Customer service is a give and take process. There is very little give and a bunch of take. * For a company this size, there is very little standardization from branch to branch, even within the same region. Have no idea what our regional management is attempting to accomplish. * Relatively zero input from management on how to increase sales, just told to do so. * Proactive behavior literally non-existent. Total reactive culture. * Management not open to suggestions from their employees. If you suggest something and it reflects poorly on someone else, there will be repercussions.

Pros

This is one of the few companies I have ever worked for in a corporate structure that I have regular contact and communication with both my District Manager as well as my Regional VP. Both are incredibly down to earth and approchable. In my opinion, I think this company has a great culture that cares about their employees. That is not to say that everything is perfect, but in my case, I certainly do not feel like just a number.

Cons

As is trypically the case in a corporate structure, anything that gets done has to go through lots of layers and so takes a while. The joke is that things move at corporate speed.
