Pros

Salary Benefits Work is good challenge vacation is ok

Cons

Gulfstream has become most hostile workplace I have seen in my career. About 5 years ago this began. The good ol' boy system went out of hand and now some of the most unqualified, unskilled engineers I have worked with climb up. Highly experienced engineers and researchers are shut down for reporting incompetent team members, "yes" men are everywhere, and some analysis work is done so poor it is unethical and dangerous. Gulfstream is headed for a implosion as smart, talented employees are bullied, silenced, and ignored. Gossip and backstabbing is routine and defended by management, team members will not help you, and people will try to sabotage your work. When I started working here, it was a great place, but Gulfstream is nothing what it was before. I am constantly asked favors to protect people with 5 and more years of experience who cannot write code, format a document, or know how anything works. I have been at Gulfstream for over 10 years and I have been threatened after complaining about this issue no salary is worth this. Do not work here, do not sign any contracts and work somewhere else.

Pros

-Work in an air conditioned hangar! -All the tools and support needed to do the job -Excellent training available -Good safety culture -Fairly easy work -Lots of opportunities to grow

Cons

Big corporate politics at times. Some people just love to point fingers. Rules that are very excessive due to incompetence, instead of just firing morons.

Pros

Rather decent front loaded time off. 4 day work weeks. A pretty decent off shift incentive.

Cons

Management does not care about their people. They are so far removed from what’s going on on the floor and too focused on passing the buck to someone else for their screw ups. People are placed in positions they should not be in simply because they know someone or they kiss up to someone. The people on the floor have very little fixed wing experience yet act as if they know everything. The only path they create for people to move up is A&P and even then they just want you to stay a mechanic. They neglect to realize that people stay with a company for the culture as well as leave because of it.
