Pros

Company takes care of employees with decent pay and time off from day one. Great products, and looks great on a resume.

Cons

The Westfield, MA service center is in need of a major overhaul. New employees are brought in with no training on very complex aircraft. Senior technicians will not train new employees, so new mechanics are forced to learn as they go with little data. No aircraft specific training is provided or any training on proper way to fill out paper work. The company let's the customer and the inspection department dictate how maintenance gets done rather than doing it how the manuals call for. Upper management only cares about how to prevent damage on aircraft and making sure they get the "your idea at work" quota. 90% of the problems at that facility could be solved with proper training and teaching better communication. Upper management is on the "good Ole boy" system where all the original employees are now managers and friends and refuse to make changes in an constant changing environment. Definitely not the Gulfstream service center I recommend working for. Go to Brunswick or Appleton

Pros

-Work in an air conditioned hangar! -All the tools and support needed to do the job -Excellent training available -Good safety culture -Fairly easy work -Lots of opportunities to grow

Cons

Big corporate politics at times. Some people just love to point fingers. Rules that are very excessive due to incompetence, instead of just firing morons.

Pros

Rather decent front loaded time off. 4 day work weeks. A pretty decent off shift incentive.

Cons

Management does not care about their people. They are so far removed from what’s going on on the floor and too focused on passing the buck to someone else for their screw ups. People are placed in positions they should not be in simply because they know someone or they kiss up to someone. The people on the floor have very little fixed wing experience yet act as if they know everything. The only path they create for people to move up is A&P and even then they just want you to stay a mechanic. They neglect to realize that people stay with a company for the culture as well as leave because of it.
