Pros

The clients are wonderful to work with. An employee learns a lot regarding how each individual is unique, even if they have a similar diagnosis.

Cons

Some of the staff do not do their share of the work, so you may end up doing the job of 2 people. Example- an overnight consists of 2 workers. Shift begins 10/11pm- ends 10am. Workers are supposed to break this into 2 shifts between them; 6hrs each. The organization is kind enough to set the night schedule into shifts, so that each person gets to rest 6hrs. In order to get adaquate rest for morning. Some employees feel overnights are a way to make extra money sleeping. It would not be a big deal, however when one is dealing with Special clients, taking advantage , in this way is disgusting. Some people work here, for the money and unfortunately could care less that they have the opportunity to make a positive change in the lives of very special people.
