My largest professional disappointment yet - Human Resources Group Management Services Employee Review

Pros

There are some good leaders still left, but good luck getting their support because they're terrified they will be let go.

Cons

Wholesale removal of all competitive benefits that the company once touted as their dedication to employee well-being. Removal of remote work, removal of company car, removal of compensation opportunities, etc. All with nearly no notice so the employees they have working here have time to plan. The extensive list of negative change is too exhausting to write. All you have to do is see their responses to any negative review to see the type of "leadership" you have operating this business. A once genuinely enjoyable place to work is nothing but a shell of what it (perhaps) once was. Disgustingly absent communication from anyone about the reason for changes, lack of a coherent strategy for change and an abysmal attempt at "communication" from the HR team are just the rotten cream on top of the proverbial garbage pie this company has become, and what's worse is the lack of empathy and respect for the human lives that dedicate their time to this organization. The fact that Mike or anyone else in a decision making position can rest their heads at night is sickening to say the least. In my nearly 30 years of working in this industry, particularly in leadership, this is by far the largest disappointment.

Unfortunately, the uptick in negative reviews on 10/11 and 10/12 stemmed from disgruntled employees upset about a company-wide change. GMS is confident in our decision to move away from the company car program. We have worked closely with Motus to establish a fair reimbursement program to ensure employees would be adequately compensated for their automobile usage and mileage for business-related travel. Our new arrangement offers employees a monthly stipend as well as business mileage reimbursement. If employees have any questions or concerns about the new program, or any other concerns, they are encouraged to reach out to Internal HR to help better understand this new benefit. We understand that change is hard. We are here to help you through this change.

Pros

My department team was helpful and management was honest about expectations. Management was helpful and kind.

Cons

The company gave me a raise and then laid me off the following week. My management wasn't made aware till an hour before I was. And they were cold and brief. They laid me off due to the company needing to do kick backs. No pto pay out. No severance pay, no notice. Immediate termination. Two other people on my team were let go and for other people in my 12-person office. The company was clearly going under but still took the sales team on international trip, even insurance stated they would not be covered. The lack of professionalism from everyone was mind blowing. People came into work hung over. You have to baby the sales reps. They have constant training. And the sales reps constantly didn't care. The CSR were better at paperwork and negotiating then the sales rep and were also being under paid.
