Pros
Great people, everyone is friendly and welcoming. The non salary benefits such as free gym, occasional ice cream van days etc are good. Great introductory experience into the industry across all their departments. Good opportunities for TITLE progression (not salary) Great attitude towards charity, especially mental health initiatives. A belief in self management, Ground Controls attitude of "seek forgiveness, not permission" is at its core, although it is often preached and not practised. Senior management are mostly approachable and friendly .
Cons
Salary is low for the industry. Zero flexibility, no working from home or flexible hours for most office staff, seniors apparently make their own rules. Very little holiday, 17 days after you have taken off Christmas. Little progression in real terms, promotions are given without pay rises and most people reach a ceiling very fast. GC like to use one off examples of progression as an aspiration but the reality is that this is a one off.
