Pros

They are willing to take you if you are new to the industry. Their benefits are good.

Cons

For starters they dump all responsibility down on you. They mess up but since you were last to see something it becomes your problem. The only thing management cares about is the donor and the donation. The donors constantly disrespect you and suffer almost no consequences for their actions, unless it you can prove beyond a shadow of the doubt that they did what ever it may have been done. They automatically get a pass and you suffer the punishment with out multiple witnesses. When hired you are told you get breaks but you almost never do and are expected to work long hours without compensation other than you may get an extra long lunch tomorrow. They quote SOP's as they help them but defend yourself with the same SOP's and they'll just adjust them to meet their needs. No sick days.

Pros

Good for phlebotomy experience Meet interesting people Learn to keep plates spinning Good health benefits, but not enough to outweigh the health impacts Learn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment

Cons

Have to unlearn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment High school drama and toxicity, management is the prom king/queen Cliquey dramatic management team Reneged agreements Playing favorites, rules for thee but not for me Private employee info gets spread, often by those who are relied upon to keep it private No work life balance or boundaries, and it's an admitted and perpetually unaddressed fault Have to be made to feel guilty for wanting to leave production, get a break, or go to the bathroom High turnover "Is everyone else working as hard as I am?",-Everyone, and eventually you
