Pros

There are few if any pros to this company. The one redeeming factor is that the product being developed helps to save lives.

Cons

This is a sales position. As a health care worker I did not initially consider that to be a deterrent. I should have. During my time at the company I witnessed abhorrent treatment of donors including verbal harassment and unnecessary refusals of service. Many individuals, rely upon their ability to donate as a means of supplemental income. Management and supervisors were incompetent and showed little to no ability to think outside of the extensive procedural standards. During my employment I frequently worked 45+ hour weeks occasionally receiving one day off in a two-week period. I frequently worked 10-12 hour days and saw hours docked when I was unable to take a lunch due to workload. The turnover rate in my area was through the roof. During one month we lost four of the six medical specialists. I would not recommend this position to anyone.

Pros

Good for phlebotomy experience Meet interesting people Learn to keep plates spinning Good health benefits, but not enough to outweigh the health impacts Learn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment

Cons

Have to unlearn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment High school drama and toxicity, management is the prom king/queen Cliquey dramatic management team Reneged agreements Playing favorites, rules for thee but not for me Private employee info gets spread, often by those who are relied upon to keep it private No work life balance or boundaries, and it's an admitted and perpetually unaddressed fault Have to be made to feel guilty for wanting to leave production, get a break, or go to the bathroom High turnover "Is everyone else working as hard as I am?",-Everyone, and eventually you
