Pros

On site cafe with decent selection and variety of plates and salads. They are good about cleanliness of the production area. It is cleaned to high pharmaceutical standards. Wellness program - you can earn gift cards if you participate in challenges and do seminars online.

Cons

Upper Management communication is horrendous. It is dictated down to the masses. "Here is your project that has ridiculous time frames and not enough money. Go do it" is how it seems. The inflexibility from Spain is overwhelming. They are old-school in all aspects and quick to dismiss any technological advances in all aspects - office or manufacturing. Projects take years longer than they should because of all the hurdles you have to jump through. They do nothing to retain talent. We have lost so many good people because they do nothing to keep people there. Bonuses are hard to come by there as everyone's targets are based on manufacturing yields. Much of the upper management is from Spain. You won't ever get promoted past Director unless you are from Spain or Latin Heritage. The annual performance review process is a total joke. It doesn't actually or accurately measure your contribution to the company. Among lots of other categories, you get graded on things like "company values" and "Technology" even if you have no influence over technology. Of the 15,000 or so global employees, less than 0.05% get rated as excellent. Another small percentage, (I don't remember exactly) gets a 4. Almost everyone gets a 3 - meets expectations. Any software or suggestions you have get shot down immediately over either budget issues or validation timeframe. The Validation department has had over and over turnover. Everyone else gets hired, overworked, and leaves. Two years ago the entire team followed one engineer to Allergan. They hire far too many people from other aspects of the company without any experience or education. You better hope to have a degree from Cal State LA too because that is the preferred place since a key member of upper mgmt went there. Communication between GBI LA and GTI North Carolina is pretty poor too. The Work Life balance is very poor too. I think it all depends on your manager and director. If you have a great manager or director that can shield you or absorb it, it is an ok place to work. If you have a lousy Director, it is pure hell.

Pros

Good for phlebotomy experience Meet interesting people Learn to keep plates spinning Good health benefits, but not enough to outweigh the health impacts Learn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment

Cons

Have to unlearn working in a high-stress fast-paced work environment High school drama and toxicity, management is the prom king/queen Cliquey dramatic management team Reneged agreements Playing favorites, rules for thee but not for me Private employee info gets spread, often by those who are relied upon to keep it private No work life balance or boundaries, and it's an admitted and perpetually unaddressed fault Have to be made to feel guilty for wanting to leave production, get a break, or go to the bathroom High turnover "Is everyone else working as hard as I am?",-Everyone, and eventually you
