Pros

More or less freedom to work your own pace. As long as you get the jobs done, they don't hover over your shoulder. Travel around the state, but not so far that you'd need to stay anywhere overnight, they try to keep you close to home. Lots of opportunities to learn. They promote a health work-life balance. They want you done within 8 hours so that you can get home. Local branch's managers are top tier. They will NOT ask you to do something that they haven't done themselves.

Cons

Overtime is rarely offered unless they mandate a Saturday (though it's not often). If you're the sort to try and get your days finish within the timeframe and do your job well, they may offer a chance for OT if you want it. Folks tend to call in often, which puts the overall list of jobs behind, which frustrates customers and those of us that are more reliable have to deal with it. This leads to mandated overtime on Saturdays. Sometimes the people customers talk to on the phones have no idea what it is pest control actually does and it frequently leads to misunderstandings from the customers - they often don't know what it is we're allowed to do with our chemicals (several request us to spray in tubs, which we can't). A lot of the times, you're playing damage control. Previous techs sometimes miss something (beehive) or customer misunderstands what we can or cannot treat. The company prioritizes sales. They talk about how they don't focus on it, but they really do pressure you into making sales. If you go past 10 days without a sale, they start acting like they're going to write you up or release you. This was my biggest hurdle as I've told them "I'm a tech, not a salesman" and they assured me it was fine. One of the issues with these sales is, they load you up with jobs throughout the day that you have to get within 8 hours and each job itself is timed - however, what isn't timed is being able to speak with customers about potential issues that require an additional sale. Then having to convince the customer to sign up, get someone from the inside team to answer the phone, get the contract sent out and signed. It all adds up time which slows you down. I sacrificed sales in favor of getting the jobs done for the day while putting in potential sales in my closing texts to the customers. In short, come in expecting to make sales. (The bright side is, the sales you DO make definitely add money to your pocket - and the team WILL HELP you learn.)

Pros

Take home truck, gas card.

Cons

Very dishonest company, they advertise $19-25 per hour, no matter how much experience you have they tell you that everyone starts at $19, and when you challenge them on their postings they will stop responding to you and place you on their do not hire list.. I’ve seen it done. They place a high pressure of sales on their service technicians forcing them to sell even though you’re just a technician. They micromanage you as you are working, they ask you to do things that are outside of the pesticide label.
