Pros
GPTech is a small business tackling some of the world's largest energy problems which makes the work itself extremely rewarding. There is also the feeling at GPTech that we are working for something better and we want to do right by those less fortunate which is always a nice reason to work somewhere. With only a handful of employees, the team is really supportive and collaborative and they genuinely care about what they do. In addition, everyone is quite technically proficient therefore reaching out to co-workers for help or questions is welcomed. The culture here is much more flexible than other places I have worked, meaning you can wear many hats on the job and carve out a workload that is important to you. Of course there are always areas of a job that are tedious but I feel that GPTech does a great job of letting employees get the work done they feel most comfortable.
-flexible work schedule, really great work-life balance
-nice commuter benefits
-diverse technical interest areas
-travel opportunities
-really great co-workers and teammates
-laid back culture if you can get your work done on time
-company sponsored volunteering, holiday parties, and achievement events
-year end bonuses
-benefits are as good as a small business can offer
Cons
No major cons I can think of.
At times taking on many different responsibilities can be stressful however with a collaborative team around you, people are willing to help.
When deadlines on proposals are approaching there can be longer days although it is not the expectation on a normal basis.
