Pros

I have been sick and could not work at all. They still paid me. if you enjoy meeting new people, can handle a moderate amount of rejection without taking it personally, you can do good. I've found the principles (owners) have been nothing but fair with me. Of course, you have to set up enough appointments, in which enough people buy the products to justify your position. They are growing and with growth comes changes - some wanted and some not. But, at the end of the day they are striving to provide a superior product at a fair price to people who undoubtedly need it. I haven't met any customer who is not blown away by the attention to detail, following thru on promises and quality of the products. Probably have time for another job because you actually don't work but from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (later in summer). Full time pay for part time hours. Not bad.

Cons

Out in the hot and cold at times.

Pros

I worked in Telemarketing (appointment setter) and this is what I experienced: Hourly pay Plus Commission, Sales contests, Good training, Great co-workers, Inspirational management, the chance to be creative when calling potential customers, Lots of experience being persistent, Short days on Friday

Cons

Revolving door atmosphere. They're always hiring for telemarketing. If you can fog a mirror your in. Unfortunately 90% discover it's not for them. You're cold calling people up until 9pm who are often receiving up to 4 solar calls a day. Many claim to be on the do-not-call list and are very upset with you. It's very difficult to set an appointment. If you can stick it out you will likely get to start making "warm" calls which is a plus. The biggest "Con" is the staffing service they use for payroll services, etc. They are AWFUL to work with starting from the ridiculously un-professional receptionist. By California Law I should have been paid within 72 hours of when I quite. It's been over a week and I still don't have a paycheck. I've received one excuse after another. Will have to seek help from Labor Board however, since I was a 1099 employee, I may not receive much assistance, which I'm sure is not coincidence.
