Pros

Great place to innovate and experiment. Great team, many talented people willing to sacrifice for the vision. Clarification many did sacrifice for the vision.

Cons

CEO = Micro manager "enough said" CEO does not let managers grow to their full potential. He pushes his initiatives even though they don't make any financial sense. Bad CEO decisions has crippled the company. There is no structure, still a small business with big idea. Had many chances to take it to higher level many times but blew it due to CEO direction was not focused on core business.

Thanks for the feedback. The business has grown double digit from 2011 to 2014. Most employees work for over 5 years in the company. Recycling is a business about details. So a lot of coordination between departments.

Pros

Friendly workmates. Located in Burlingame, a very good city to work in.

Cons

It’s honestly the CEO who is the main problem at this company. He tends to squeeze every possible ounce of work out of employees to maximize profits, with very little concern for how that impacts people on a personal level. Expectations keep getting raised, but there’s almost no support, appreciation, or understanding in return. Extended hours are treated like the norm, and work‑life balance is clearly not a priority. He often comes across as extremely inconsiderate, especially when it comes to workload, personal time, and basic respect for employees. Instead of motivating people, this leadership style creates constant pressure, burnout, and low morale. It makes what could be a decent job feel unnecessarily stressful and draining. I eventually left to join a direct competitor, and the difference is night and day. I now have better pay, a healthier work‑life balance, and leadership that actually values its employees. Looking back, leaving was absolutely the right decision.
