The people, the mission, the culture, even the work itself was a truly special experience.

Cons

Definitely a startup rollercoaster ride, but I wouldn't hesitate to go on it again!

Pros

The team at Greatist is unparalleled. The people are beyond smart, compassionate, and truly interested in the work they do. The team mentality makes everyone feel accountable for pulling their weight (despite the unlimited vacation and flexible hours). Beyond the team being incredible, the room to grow and potential to shape your own role in the company makes for an ideal learning environment. Greatist is my first job out of college and I’ve already learned more than I could have hoped/more than I would have at a big corporate job. No matter your experience or background, the people at Greatist have the unique ability to see your potential and encourage you to try new things (literally, one of our mottos is Just F*cking Do It). Despite the laidback environment (no dress code, fully-stocked kitchen and snacks), the Greatist work environment is incredibly professional. I appreciate how efficiently work gets done in the office and how communicative my coworkers are with each other. Because it’s a small company, everyone is involved in big projects and works together to get things done—which is a great opportunity to work with and learn from people who do completely different jobs from me. Overall, 12/10 experience at Greatist—this company has set an incredibly high bar in terms of work environment and experience. If get the chance to join the Greatist team, you’d be a fool not to take it!

Cons

Desperately trying to think of something, but the only thing that comes to mind is that sometimes the office temp runs a little cold and I have to sneakily turn up the heat. Does that count? Just bring a sweater, you’ll be fine.
