Pros
I come from the advertising industry and Greatist has been such a breath of fresh air. I was hesitant to move from a large company to a start up with only about 25 employees but the transition has been so much easier than I expected and has everything to do with my team and the people who work here. (spoiler alert: everyone's amazing!) I’m a fairly new employee but two big things have stood out to me so far. The first being the onboarding process; within my first week I met with each department head to learn how the company operates, the role each department plays and how we all work together. The thoroughness of this process allowed me to quickly ground myself in company processes and dive right into my personal role and responsibilities. The second being the career growth framework; within my first month I worked with my manager to map out personal career goals and overall expectations of me to move the company forward. I know exactly what success looks like and how to get there and will have quarterly checkins with my manager to make sure I’m on track. I also have to mention the free food for breakfast/lunch, the fully stocked kitchen to cook throughout the day and the unlimited supply of healthy(ish) snacks because this perk will NEVER get old!
Cons
Mitts, Chief Puppy Officer, only comes into the office a few days a week which is sad. He should be here everyday to spread more of his puppy love!
