We thank you for taking the time to post feedback. It is great to learn that you enjoyed the challenge and diversity of work. We work hard to help our staff gain a sense of accomplishment in their areas of interest and contribute to the value we provide our customers. Taking on tedious data entry tasks can help sustain attention to important details and uncover insights that would not have been possible any other way.

Pros

Interesting and meaningful work. The customers are varied and enjoyable to work with. At the end of the day you are helping people save energy and reduce waste. The engineers and analysts on the team are very knowledgeable and experienced, and you can learn a lot by working with them. At the employee level, everyone is friendly and happy to help each other out. Taking time off is easy and encouraged. They seem to be willing to work with employees on modified schedules as needed for things like attending classes. Work-life balance is good, and there’s no pressure to answer calls or emails after hours.

Cons

Leadership is extremely hit or miss (mostly miss). It’s a family run business and some family members are incredibly toxic while others are normal. You will have to learn to deal with management being openly dishonest, disrespectful and insulting to their employees. There is a high level of micromanagement, although at times it feels as though they aren’t managing as much as trying to feel in control. Based on the small size of the company I assumed it would be more of a start-up feel, but they are entrenched in their ways and have simply failed to grow the company any larger than it is now. You will be yelled at, demeaned and berated for making any mistakes, so go in with a thick skin. They don’t believe in constructive criticism but they do believe in criticism. As it’s a family owned company with no HR department there are no checks on this behavior. Benefits are bare-bones. Reimbursement for personal expenses is poor. There are no stipends for personal cell phone use, home office use or equipment. Personal vehicle mileage is either not reimbursed or reimbursed at a low rate. There is no reimbursement for continuing education or classes to maintain certifications. They do provide company laptops.
