Pros

The pros of working at Granite depend on where you are placed in your initial job setting. If you are a premier you are in a good place just below sales, if you are anything else you might find the work difficult as well as the battle between the review team and you exhausting. Yes, the comapny gives incentives and bonuses, and are pretty fair when it comes to the work, but the work you will be doing depending where you fall in to the Granite system is very technical, and can leave you uninspired. However, the Granite community is actually a quite supportive and friendly group. You'll find there are many chances to join in extracurriculars. I also have to say the fundraising that the Granite team does is incredible, including the money raised for many charities across the Massachusetts area. I have to say I was very proud of the community when a co-worker suggested that he would shave his entire heed and beard if the money was donated for Cancer research. Many people including myself joined in and everyone who shaved their head Granite donated a thousand dollars to cancer research. I heard that we raised over 2 million for cancer research. I have to say i was very proud of the team then.

Cons

Just get placed in the right department and you will be fine.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
