Pros

It's a Growing Company at a convenient location. This is also a big company and you will meet a lot of people. If you are in the right department, working with and for the right people, things can be great. They have a good health plan and cover a good amount.

Cons

I was at Granite for about 6 years and it nearly tripled in size when I left. Unfortunately, I don't think Granite managed its growth as well as they could have. Due to their lack of employee appreciation, people were in and out of there like rotating doors. They would leave the company or do lateral moves into other departments. I felt because of this, a lot of people there did not know their jobs well as they should and this includes supervisors and managers. There is no Human Resource department at Granite. If you are having any work related issues, you need to see the Senior Corporate Counsel which I find extremely unusual for a company of 1000+ employees. There are no annual pay raises but they do (try to) compensate by giving free lunches and days off here and there.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
