Pros

You probably learn some structured thinking - but at an extreme misery and distress. Hard pressed to find other pros - perhaps being in NYC is a positive as you can go to other interviews by taking half days Don't stay here for more than a year.

Cons

1) The hours are extreme - during engagements its regular to hit 90-110 hours. Its miserable - especially as there is no gratitude for your hard work 2) The pay per hour is worse than the summer job you did at high school. Don't trust any pay promises or salary in your offer letter (except perhaps the base salary). Or can you even trust that they will not move the base salary? 3) there is no client exposure and no growth 4) The culture will make you a nihilist 5) you will suffer and will be miserable 6) this place offers 10 day annual vacation. don't go there!

Pros

After working here nothing will ever be as miserable again

Cons

I want to start by saying the majority of these posts are fake, hr makes new analysts post positive reviews in their first week and pays a company to scrape the negative reviews. Working here is cruel for the sake of cruelty. It is cruelty that is unproductive. You will spend all day working on something only to be told to scrap it because it’s horrible, try again, and be told it should have obviously been done the first way. You will be expected to work weekends because this process takes forever, told that going to weddings or seeing family even for a dinner on a weekend is not a good enough reason to leave the office. You will work for 40 hours straight and be told to come back to fix PowerPoint slides after a short nap. Even if you don’t have projects you will stay late because it builds character. It is a sweatshop in every way including the fact that the ceo will not pay for air conditioning or a second fan on the weekend in the middle of the summer. After all this you will have to relearn every basic process of working because no other firm works the same way, with the same tools, or processes. Your skills will be limited to survival at this specific place- which is untransferable. When calculated by hour, your pay is $0.60 above minimum wage.
