Pros

The chance to help students that need it. Benefits.

Cons

Gorman Learning Center is rift with nepotism. Family and friends are hired quickly and easily. If you attend one of the churches in Lancaster or Rancho Cucamonga that many staff attend you may be hired on easily. Many of the Executive Director’s family (extended/intermediate) work for Gorman and given fast track tickets to promotions and privileges that others have to wait years for. It is just as bad up in Lancaster at the AVRC (Resource Center) where family and friends are allowed to make up their own rules. The Antelope Valley Resource Center is literally a babysitting service in disguise. The schools board is so frequently occupied by parents of students who know nothing about schools and little about a business. Many are also focused on personal agendas and don’t care the damage it causes to the organization as a whole. HR Department reports to the Directors, so essentially, privacy/protection/employee rights are not very well protected if it involves Directors.
