Pros

Occasionally able to leave work early.

Cons

Where do I start. Not really the type to leave negativity but thought it was necessary after my experience. When I first got hired on, I was debating between Gorilla and another company and made the unfortunate decision to come to Gorilla due to the positive reviews left on Glassdoor. I didn’t want anyone to make the same mistake as myself due to the fake reviews most likely written by family members or employees that are also friends of the family so thought it would only be fair to leave an honest review. If you still choose to join the team, considered yourself warned. For starters, the other negative review left here cannot be more spot on. The owner has absolutely NO IDEA what he is doing nor has any experience in the industry. He hires experienced individuals yet refuses to take any advice. This can be quite frustrating as it just seems like a failing business and you’re just waiting for the day he decides to move on to something else. Someone mentioned that upper management checks the work once a week— NO! They check three times a day. Owner will walk around, hovers behind your desk and checks to see what you’re doing. Micro-management at its finest. From a designers point of view, there is no room for creativity and no support to complete the project well. There is now work flow or project management organization. You can be in the middle of something and he’ll tell you to start doing something else randomly. This place really is a joke. I understand if you are very desperate for a job and this place is your only option bc I get it, a crappy job is better than no job. But if you have a choice like I did, choose the latter and thank me later. Anyway, I eventually left— along with dozens of people who either got fired or quit. It was a experience working with such a toxic boss bc it taught me to appreciate the others.

Pros

Worked for around 2 years. the office is located in the warehouse district with lots of graffiti, but surprisingly once I stepped inside the office it was clean, well-maintained, and most of all, the work environment and the management were very professional. During the holiday season last year, the management treated the employees with the end-of-the year celebration dinner. The workload may get heavy some times, but it was manageable. The management lets you know what they are looking for in your work, and they check up on your progress on a weekly basis, but the whole time, I was treated with respect. there are not many employees - there were around 10 employees when I worked there, and the atmosphere was casual and laid-back.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

The Americans there are a cool group of people. There is a coffee shop downstairs.

Cons

The leadership has no agency experience, so they want people to run the agency for them. They asked me to rename the company 2 days in, to avoid some issues with their clients. Went behind my back to meet with one the vendors I brought on, which is why I quit 2 weeks in. No Parking. If you're not related to the leadership, you'll hate your life. They asked me how they should bill their clients. The pay schedule is very weird. Not credible, the company wants to avoid using their company history and credit to respond to RFPs. Sales team is unskilled and untrained. There's really no hope there. When I asked how many people have stayed there a year or longer. They responded with "none", then smiled. No insurance or additional benefits.
