Pros

The people I work with at Goodmans are awesome. I came from a different, similar-sized MillerKnoll dealer, and the biggest difference I noticed between my previous employer and Goodmans is that Goodmans seems to care more about their employees' well-being. I'm encouraged not to work overtime (but can ask for approval if I feel like I need to work some extra hours), no one micro-manages, and the Design Manager is very down-to-earth and really looks out for the designers. I haven't witnessed any drama or weird politics. It's overall a breath of fresh air working with the people at Goodmans. They also pay me much more than my previous employer would even entertain for the same position.

Cons

The only cons I have: 1. Their process isn't as baked out and well-documented as some of the other largest MillerKnoll dealers. They still have a pretty good process in place and it is pretty clear once you get the hang of it, but there are some aspects of it that are a little counter-intuitive in my opinion. 2. Their training program isn't very structured and there were a lot of things I had to learn by making mistakes, rather than being told how to do something in the first place. It wasn't egregious, but I did feel that my last dealer had a more effective training process.

Pros

They have a Beautiful office.

Cons

Too much middle management keeping any resolutions from happening. Very much a clique and you will feel the pressure of being pushed out if you don’t color inside their box. They are looking for sheep to follow, not Lions to lead. They would rather bring people in from the outside, rather than promote from within. zero work life balance although they promote it all day long.
