I worked for Good Energy for over 4 years, the company now is completely different to when I started. When I started the higher management cared about the people and paid an interest whereas now you’re just a number. There was around 3 structure changes in the time I was there, then there would be the odd person going out the ‘trap’ door every now and then. This began to become a regular thing as the years went on.
Making jobs redundant as they don’t need you but then they want you to train individuals how to do your job.
Loyalty really doesn’t mean anything to this company. Good energy do not value those with opinions or anyone who has a voice, if you have an opinion they will not want you in their new structure.
You are not treated as adults, you feel like you’re constantly being watched and looked over. You will find if you just leave your staff to get on with things they will be a lot more productive.
Getting your staff to jump through so many hoops to get a job in the new structure when a lot of them have worked for the company for many years and have been good enough until now. You’re fully aware of what they are capable of yet you want them to complete interviews/tests to prove themselves which is just insulting. You then amended the benchmarks on the interviewing scores so certain individuals did not pass. The experienced staff were then turned down and jobs offered to some staff that were still in probationary period who then did not pass and got let go.
There is a divide between the business so it feels like two separate companies. Operations are there to deal with all the rubbish and pick up the pieces when everything goes wrong but receive no thanks in return, whereas the rest of the business get treated to offsite days and regular budgets for meals/evenings out.
At the start I would have recommended this company, however now based on the above and much more I would not.
