Pros

The people are mission-driven and committed to giving each buyer or breeder the opportunity to have open conversations about standards. Founders are approachable and ensure the company culture is infused with autonomy. Small, autonomous teams mean you feel like your voice matters and you directly see the impact you're making every day. Team culture is stable and you know where you stand. Feedback is kind and opportunities for growth are only limited by your interest and ability. The people are just great. This was by far the best team I worked with across the board.

Cons

Sometimes autonomy can lead to managers feeling like they might be out of their depth or decisions can feel unilateral. While feedback is kind, sometimes critical feedback or coaching can be lacking. The breeder/buyer dynamic is challenging to navigate - which means you'll do best if you can broaden your perspective to seeing both sides of the product and situations.

Pros

I had a very positive experience working at Good Dog as a CSM! The company is genuinely mission and purpose-driven. The entire staff is deeply committed to raising standards for breeders and ensuring families are connected with dogs from responsible, ethical sources. Additionally, they care about their employees -- not a single birthday or work-anniversary is missed and when personal life becomes overwhelming, they ensure you have the ability to prioritize that first. Leadership at this company is another standout to me. The founders are hands-on and approachable in a way that feels empowering rather than micromanaging. There’s a strong sense of trust, and employees are given real ownership over their work. The company is so tight-knit that a routine check-in with the CEO feels comforting and not intimidating. They really value employee and breeder community feedback and that is evident in the consistent changes they employ through policy. The work culture is also a major strength. Clear goals, minimal meetings, and a high level of autonomy allow people to do their best work without unnecessary friction. It’s a stable, thoughtful environment where many team members stay long-term, which speaks volumes. Following a strategic refocus in 2023, the company has become even leaner and is performing extremely well. Overall, I’d highly recommend Good Dog to anyone who values meaningful work, autonomy, and a strong, mission-driven culture, and family-like colleagues. Oh and you have the ability to be fully remote but they have a fabulous NYC office!

Cons

The only potential con is that because the team is intentionally lean and retention is high, career growth trajectories can feel less defined at times. Opportunities do exist, but they require more proactive navigation and luck in timing!

Pros

Hands down the best group of humans you'll find anywhere. Everyone is kind, smart, and driven — and somehow the place runs entirely ego-free. Strong work/life balance, a team that genuinely rows in the same direction, and you get to spend your days on meaningful problems that actually improve the lives of dogs and the people who love them.

Cons

Truly none that I can point to. The hardest part about Good Dog was leaving — and honestly, I still sometimes question if that was the right decision
