Golden Helix Response

We have very little turnover in our company. This person was hired for a position with a competitive compensation plan. The details of our compensation plan are discussed before employment. They must have seen the value when they accepted our job; otherwise, they would not have taken it. We provide extensive onboarding and training to help them adjust to the scientific nature of our business. However, we believe they underestimated the learning curve required to succeed in a scientifically oriented business like ours. After working for us for about a month, they decided to leave. As a result of this experience, we have reviewed interview segments that focus on this aspect of our business to avoid misaligned expectations. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

Pros

Have worked with Golden Helix for nearly a decade as a contractor, in a remote role.  My focus is to support major grant applications and government tenders, and post-award compliance & management. This is a high-quality company that values & rewards competent and motivated individuals. Most of my contract work is high stakes and very time sensitive. Nevertheless, even under these very stressful situations the interactions with the CEO and team have always been professional and collegial, which isn't always true when you're a consultant... Also, Golden Helix pays invoices promptly - in a decade I've never had to chase even a single invoice. Highly recommend working with this talented, driven team.

Cons

This is only a con if you have a lackadaisical approach to your work: Expectations are high, and be prepared to bring your A-game, with consistent attention to detail. While some commented here about the snacks, I've never gotten to try them - guess I'll have to make it over to Bozeman for that. ;-)
