Pros

Rank and file employees are supportive and have banded together in a difficult environment. The company in the online privacy space, which is topical. Offers a 401k match, though it comes with golden handcuffs.

Cons

This is a very tough working environment. Golden Frog is part of a portfolio of companies that includes Data Foundry and Giganews. It's a family business with the co-founders and many of their sons running the business. The family and a few of their long time cohorts create a class system. Unless you are in this "inner circle" your opinion doesn't matter very much. In fact, the management team tries to rule by intimidation and isn't very tactful about motivating employees and working through issues. The co-founder likes to stand up and company meetings and say his favorite part about the United States is he can fire people as he sees fit. The others in the management team take their cue from him. The organization has a very high level of turnover and it is very common for people to leave after just a couple months. Because of this, many departments are overburdened and focus and strategic direction often change. Also, the management team is very vindictive when people leave, often trying to block their movement to other companies. The corporate culture and benefits are way behind the times. PTO and healthcare offerings lag far behind other Austin tech companies.

Pros

Great company full of extremely intelligent people. If you are motivated, you will definitely enjoy the work as well as the ability to have a positive impact on the culture and make a genuine difference.

Cons

Like anywhere, budget constraints given the current market.
