Working at Gostops has been a genuinely enriching experience. The legal and compliance function here is treated as a strategic partner, not just a back-office necessity — which makes the work meaningful and high-impact from day one. The exposure is exceptional. From drafting complex contractual clauses and compliance notices under evolving regulatory frameworks, to navigating nuanced labour law requirements across multiple states — the breadth of work keeps me sharp and constantly learning. Im consistently engage across operations, HR, and senior management regularly. Management is approachable and open to well-reasoned positions. There’s a culture of ownership — if you bring structured thinking and back it with research, your views are heard and respected. For someone who values autonomy and intellectual rigour, this is a strong fit. The hospitality sector itself adds an interesting layer — legal challenges here are dynamic, fast-moving, and rarely textbook, which suits anyone who thrives on problem-solving over routine work

Like most growing companies, processes are still maturing — but that’s also what makes it a great place to build and leave a mark rather than just maintain the status quo.

The biggest problem is the complete lack of trust. You keep referring to what happened with people in the past, but how long will current employees continue to pay for someone else's mistakes? If you cannot trust the people you have hired, then what is the point of hiring them in the first place? And if you have appointed managers and senior staff to handle operations and supervise the ground team, then why are you bypassing them and directly questioning the staff? What exactly is the purpose of keeping highly paid management positions if their decisions, reports, and authority are not trusted? This is not leadership. Leadership is building a structure, trusting it, and holding the right people accountable. Constantly bypassing the chain of command only creates confusion and sends a message that nobody's work or responsibility matters. What is even more disappointing is that there seems to be no respect for genuine hard work. The people who spend their time trying to stay in favor get attention, while those who are actually working on the ground, solving problems, handling guests, and keeping operations running are ignored. You cannot expect loyalty, ownership, and accountability from employees while continuously showing that their effort, honesty, and hard work have no value. Trust and respect go both ways, and right now that balance is completely missing.
