Great place who is looking for growth. Learned a lot in a short period of time.

Cons

Not for someone who is looking for a desk kind of position, very hands on the events!

Pros

The team and people are decent. The management is less than decent.

Cons

*Scam* I worked within this organization for quite some time. This organization and they also had another company that does the same thing called Metropolitan Events that shut down because the manager couldn't keep her staff from quitting after two weeks. The job is the exact same -everyone starts from the bottom but more or less it involves 12 hour days selling crap products inside of a Sams club or Costco and pretending that these products are "limited time". These same vendors and products will be back in the stores within two months. Red flag-if you have to lie about what the day to day on a job is and dance around the questions then clearly the job is terrible and you are just trying to avoid them noticing that during the interview process. The environment: Morning meeting that's stand up and involves pep talks and motivations lessons about how to deal with the stress and other "success stories" to try and get people pumped up for the day. This meeting takes place in a tiny office with maybe 15 other people at most. Then everyone splits up and drives to their event location aka a sams club 30 minutes from the office to work for 8 or 10 hours on your feet. The pay: Hourly or performance they say? The hourly is legit minimum wage and the only way to get paid commission is if your commission percentage is higher then your hourly for that day. Commission is 18% of your net sales, on average you are expected to sell $1000 of crap products at $60 a piece. The. Take 20% off the top for SAMs club. So your net sales are around $800 and you make %18 percent of that. The only way you get this percentage is if you make your sales and are working alone. If you have a partner, which you do a majority of the time, you have to split the $144 in commission for the day. Basically making minimum wage anyway. To be honest. The job is working 10-12 hours a day on you feet in SAMs club selling curling irons and car wax. You are also expected to do this 6 days a week straight and get a random week day off to avoid labor laws. Yes, there is growth opportunities. The chances of someone getting into that "executive management spot" are slim to none. During my time there I watched us go through 55 employees in a matter of a few months. The only way to get that promotion is to build a huge team of people under you by hiring them and running the 2nd round interviews on site at the stores. Once this large team is under you then you can maybe get promoted after 5 months of keeping a team of people that hate their jobs around. This post isn't meant to harm this company in any way, but I thought some truth should come about to this scam of a company and the other 100 offices across the county doing the same thing. Look up reviews on a company called SmartCircle and you will learn all about the evil ways. If you want to make 22,000 a year selling crap in stores while wearing dress clothes and hating your life every day, welcome to this company!
