Pros
- If you are interested in learning about the water industry, GWI is an ideal place to start
- Great networking opportunities with people in municipal water and industrial water (such as oil and gas or microelectronics)
- Opportunity to travel
- Events are fun/the work environment can be exciting
- The CEO is a visionary that can ignite a passion for your work
- For the US office, in a country where PTO is often overlooked, they offer great flexibility in taking vacation
- Most of the team is really great and supportive though often overworked and might not have as much time for you as they would like
Cons
- I worked as a conference producer at two places and the pay can be relatively low here
- If you are in the US office, it is likely you may feel like the underdog in comparison to the UK office
- It is a rather small company that can be prone to disorganization
- Your job description and responsibilities often expand (and often without a pay raise - though this may come later after you have proven yourself)
