Pros

Relatively flexible work schedule Great mix of people from different cultures/backgrounds Interesting mix of owners/management which has potential to do great things

Cons

Too much drama and too many personalities in the office - people don't know what is acceptable office behavior...this includes senior management. Poor communication and poor leadership No interest/desire to develop staff or invest in training/development..."what can you do for us?" mentality in management

Pros

- Amazing co-workers. Very supportive, collegial, international, and extremely well-educated. - Fairly laid back place to work compared to similar places. More like a small, dysfunctional family firm than a faceless vampire squid corporation. - Great place to learn all about international asset recovery. Global Recovery Group has likely pioneered some best practices here. - Work can be dynamic and interesting (at times).

Cons

- Mediocre comp (relative to industry). - Morale tends to be low. - Nepotism/favoritism. - Company is completely dominated by lawyers who see everything through the prism of the legal profession. - Company is largely a bureaucratic reflection of the government bureaucracies it serves. - Work experience doesn't generally translate well to a wide variety of other occupations (outside of corporate law). - Nature of the work exposes you to the darker side of humanity and all the things that can and do go wrong in business (and people's lives).
