Pros

Remote working is quite flexible and absence management for family related matters is too.

Cons

The company is the most confusing and non-transparent organisation I have ever worked at. Objectives: the sales have a much higher objective with respect to the sales manager. Sales management have no experience on the software GITLAB sells in terms of technology. Management have no experience in terms of networking or connections within the objective companies, nor within the partners. The company is extremely inflexible in terms of processes and holds no experience in terms of what happens outside of EEUU (nor do they care). Hence the enormous turnover. I was suggested to stay away from Gitlab from ex colleagues and friends, and there you are, I made the error they already predicted.

Pros

OK pay or benefits in the market. Fully remote. Still is trying to frame itself as a big player.

Cons

Leadership went from being collaborative, communicative, and transparent, to being mercurial, secretive, and out of touch with the actual work. OBSESSSES over your AI usage metrics - even if AI doesn't help you and slows you down. The current layoff in progress was communicated poorly and not planned at all. And now they want us to adore the leaders and the company? Cultish vibes. We went from a company that plans ahead to a company that reacts.
