Leadership is abysmal. These "leaders" are incompetent and completely out-of-touch with how the science works. Make biology easier to engineer? These leaders are only making it harder. They've surrounded themselves with sycophants, yes men. They've laid off all the people who said "no". Everyone left just says yes to survive.
