Pros

Everybody knows each other, making for a nominally collaborative environment. The work is interesting, with a diverse range of projects to theoretically bounce between

Cons

Abuse, safety / lab hygiene violations, and disorganization are tolerated without any real consequences at Giner. There is no accountability for repeatedly problematic behavior. The company outlook is bad, with yearly company revenue on scale with one person's salary, and recent years' revenue being in the red. Everybody below and including some C-suite and upper management at the company is looking to leave or has already left, with multiple rounds of layoffs, firings, and resignations. Nearly a quarter of the company workforce has separated from Giner one way or another in the past year alone. Upper management is emotionally abusive, manipulative, and actively hinder personal growth and professional development. Insecurity, narcissism, and subtle racism, sexism, ageism, and educational attainment discrimination are par for the course. Human resources is useless to combat these pervasive issues. People are overworked, stressed, abused, and generally having a bad time at Giner. I would avoid this place at all costs.
