Pros

I proudly worked at Gimmal for almost seven years. While I did leave Gimmal, I left for a new and different career opportunity outside of consulting; however, I am convinced I would not work for another consulting outfit other than Gimmal. While Gimmal is a smaller organization, that is exactly one of the reasons I left one of the largest, global consulting outfits for Gimmal. Gimmal gave me opportunities to get closer to the operations and decision-making processes of the business, thus I was able to grow and evolve my career enhancing the technical consulting skills with additional managerial and leadership skills. Through Gimmal, I was also able to get involved in the Houston community (e.g. AIIM, ARMA, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo). I can confidently recommend Gimmal as a fine place to work, enjoy, and build one's career.

Cons

Honestly, not too many cons to speak of. No organization or person is perfect. Maybe a little more team building (e.g. retreats, socials) on occasion. Long-running projects can mean some people don't see or meet one another for quite a while.

Pros

There has been a noticeable shift toward positivity and growth. Our sales have seen a significant uptick which is reflective of solid business strategies with our current team. In the last year, our company culture has become far more collaborative and supportive which creates more of a sense of unity within the team. Looking ahead to 2024, there's a sense of optimism about opportunities for growth at all levels. I'm genuinely hopeful for this positive trend to continue.

Cons

The current reality at Gimmal is that the team is smaller than it should be. This shows that we work very well together but provides little in the way of backup or redundancy. As everyone wears multiple hats, there is higher chance for burnout among all levels of the team, and the responsibilities are sometimes hard to juggle. This is something to be mindful of if you have difficulty in balancing more than one responsibility. Time management is crucial to success at Gimmal.
