Pros

Tech team were mostly supportive, knowledgeable and kind, they are an invaluable asset to the firm.

Cons

Top-down management, staff are not consulted before important decisions are made on matters, such as a new case management system. Culture is toxic which has seen the firm have a high turnover of conveyancers and technical team members within the last couple of years. HR are slow at dealing with issues raised with them and overall do not prioritise wellbeing of staff. Firm largely focusses on bottom line/financial success in conveyancing meetings.

Pros

Working from home was the only positive

Cons

No sick pay unless signed off sick Ruined my mental health Overworked A massive caseload that never went down no matter how many times you express you are stressed and not coping Phone does not stop ringing - in one day I had 81 calls! Poor management skills and just an "everyone is in the same boat" attitude Agents call the shots as the firm pays referral fees Conveyancing factory Having to cover other staff members constantly - I have not had a week since January where I have not had to cover at least one member of staff from the team I worked in! All work has to be signed off by a technical advisor even if you have been carrying your own caseload for years The bonus structure is simply unobtainable due to the amount of completions you are expected to do a month with such a high caseload
