Pros

Great job You make your own schedule and get to get out and have fun taking photos and most people at the assignments are friendly.

Cons

You can recieve a message that you have been removed from a gig. It doesn't usually say why and they won't pay you for it. You can't respond to gigwalk email you have to go throught the ap and it shows where the company that hired gigwalk has removed you. some problems are 1. was sent to photograph a display in a citgo gas station. gas station is now a shell station. I included that with the work. Too bad for me. The response was we asked for citgo, even though the address was shown at the door and THEIR gps took me to the citgo. An employee told me it used to be a citgo about 2 years earlier. I included that info. tough luck. no pay. 2. A funeral company changed their name. same problem. 3. there were papers under the paper that was being photographed. The company wants the photo within so many miles from the place being photographed. tough luck. 4. a display sign is shown in a photo of the product way above my head. I included a photo of the sign in a later question, but because the sign wasn't visable in the photo tough luck. 5. they don't care how far away you drive, how many tolls, how much gas it's up to you to choose which jobs you want which is fantastic, but you don't know if you will get paid. Obviously you won't drive an hour away for six dollars, so if you combine it, that's great, except they aren't paying. tough luck. 5. Clients have my photos without my getting paid for them. One is probably going into a magazine or internet article or book. tough luck. 6. Until gigwalk gets paid neither will you. The problem is there is no recourse. You can't respond to the complaints. I thought this would be a perfect job but ended up costing me money. Their response is always You are welcome to go back and submit it again.

Pros

have been challenged and encouraged everyday i come into the office. Very fast pace "go get it" attitude.

Cons

Not a place to work if you need your hand held, need to be motivated and ready to dive into any situation that comes your way.

Pros

Similar to how Uber is disrupting the transportation industry and Airbnb the hotel industry, Gigwalk is transforming how people find and execute work thru mobile technology. Gigwalk is at the forefront of this movement. McKinsey just did a study that showed over 30% of the labor force is now working in the Gig economy. Gigwalk has built an organic workforce of over 1 million Gigwalkers and is growing exponentially. Additionally, the platform has continued to evolve and become more advanced, meeting the needs of clients. Gigwalk gave me an amazing opportunity to branch outside of a traditional sales role and handle many cross departmental responsibilities. It was a pleasure working alongside the CEO, CTO, and VP of Engineering. I left Gigwalk with a wealth of new tools and learnings.

Cons

When you read the cons, one needs to take into consideration that this is a startup, its an organization that consumes VC cash and is trying to become a sustainable business. If you understand this upfront then there should be no surprises when there are pivots, roadblocks, etc. The company is extremely agile and releases new updates every 2 weeks. Because of that flexibility different hypothesis and strategies will be tested. Based on your needs, a startup can be a pro or con.
