Pros

Unlimited promotional opportunities. Flexible schedule. Attractive bonus potential and overtime for exempt employees (Sundays and Holidays). Fairly well-paying job with benefits. 401k with 3% match. Union environment for hourly associates ensures fair treatment and even accountability for everyone in the store. Can negotiate a good starting PTO balance. ServeSafe License at no cost. ABRA License if in a DC or VA store at no cost. Paid once a week.

Cons

Night, weekend, and holiday business. 10 hour day minimum, can be difficult leaving on time depending on day-to-day operations. Working Sunday is an additional day of pay, with a little extra money, and "optional"... but you can expect to work it most weeks depending on your store. Store has staff 24/7; you can get called 24/7. Store is open holidays; expect to work holidays.

Pros

The team was nice and the customers were friendly.

Cons

The management are inconsistent in their employment practices. They target certain employees and will at some point be in legal trouble based on how they treat people. They have no leadership skills like communication and clarity. The store manager, assistant and HR needs to be retrained. The morale is low and there is constant confusion. Leaders should be the model in creating an inclusive culture.
