Don't get stuck at this dead end job, this place is a joke - Laboratory Technician I Geocomp Employee Review

Pros

Free lunches and really corny activities that you can get paid for, come in and leave whenever, you can literally watch Netflix all day and nobody doesn't even do anything, if you know/related to the right person you can get caught sleeping without getting in trouble and still get paid during your nap.

Cons

The pay, expensive benefits, no one cares, communication, no advancement opportunities, creepy guys, men and women aren't treated equal, the company would rather spend their money on equipment that you don't need instead of giving to the hard working people, unfair to people because they don't like them, rude emails by someone who barely even works or shows up everyday, your lead will just not show up for days and the person who has been there the longest is all of a sudden in charge and you will get management being rude to you for the whole time and its not like you will get paid more either, offered pretty much everyone the same flat raise because people kept quitting and didn't even fake it, there's a lot of cutting corners to send out test results faster

Pros

I’ve worked here for nearly 7 years. This company is now on the right track under new leadership and I am making more money now than under the old leadership. They improved the 401K match to 7% as long you you contribute minimum 5%. The health insurance is the best I’ve ever had. Overall an excellent benefits package. 4 weeks vacation to boot once you’ve been here 5 years. You get 3 weeks on being hired. There’s a clause in the employee handbook if you’ve prior experience elsewhere for every 3 years prior experience you have you get 1 year credit towards your 4 weeks vacation. Make sure you ask about it! No one knows about it.

Cons

The former CEO is still hanging around. He’s an egotistical, micromanager who is supposed to be retiring soon. The company had a cyberbreach in 2021 because of his shortsighted management style and last year we found out 2 employees were stealing from the company because of his lack of oversight.
