I am not so sure this review is for us, I am inclined to think it is for a another company with the same name :) We are full remote now, hence I doubt you work from our office lately.

Pros

- You get to meet new people - You work at your own pace - Interesting projects

Cons

- No time to familiarize yourself with the project or codebase, you are expected to start contributing from day 1 - Requires a steep learning curve if you're not a GIS developer - No opportunity for growth within the organization - No one has time for maintenance - deprecated projects and age-old bugs will nib you in the butt, and your time allocation does not cater for debugging and fixing such - Decisions to lay off with no prior warning/complaint (you just get an email about the decision to end collaboration - you have 2 weeks left)

As usual thanks for the review. Reading between the lines, I think you were assigned to MapStore our frontend open source product. About time for maintenance, I am sorry but what you report is incorrect. Being MapStore open source, you can check for yourself the amount of maintenance work we do every year; we usually invest around 150 days per year just on maintenance. Maybe we can do more, but I would not call do "no time". As of the notice period, we always respect what we agree in our employment contracts, if you believe we did not, you can contact me directly. We have had to lay off two people in 2023 due to poor performance and for both we extended the _agreed_ notice period by a few weeks plus vacations to help with finding a new job. We do regular retrospectives with new hires every week or two and every couple of months with long term employees. I am starting to think we shall be even more clear when we are not happy.
