Pros

Decent remuneration, decent work life balance mostly, positive mission Some teams are probably alright to work in

Cons

Overall the company has an uncomfortable level of moral ambiguity. Like using opt-out collection of genetic data from tumour samples - though the external ethical board that approved this should share the blame. The leadership is not inspiring in this regard, saying that really we were doing those people a favour with free genetic sequencing... The company is consistent in being anti-transparency and consistent in giving little weight to the progression or welfare of individual employees. The response to negative incidents is always about "spin" rather than becoming genuine and espousing values. Some of the best employees can go un-thanked for years at a time while some incompetent and even woeful employees who are more prominent in the company can be thanked ten times a minute and endlessly promoted. If you're a senior tech person who installs insanely outdated software with published security vulnerabilities, on publicly accessible servers, in a company where a security breach could be fatal, how would you like two promotions? Your department has like a 50% turnover rate? Don't worry about that There's a sea of bureaucracy, technical debt and obstructionism that your optimism can quickly drown in
