Pros
-1:1 growth with a direct manager is unlike any other company I've worked with, in the best way possible. You are actively encouraged to bring up new interests and ideas that appeal to you—personal and professional—which may or may not be incorporated into your work.
-Vibe is unparalleled. Weekly meetings are brief and informative while also having enough fun time to bring together a very spread-out remote team.
-Departments are clearly outlined with responsibilities. You are responsible for a lot in a startup-like environment; it is all laid out, documented, and very manageable.
-Company well-being and direction are generally well-known. Whether it be upcoming investment deals, new company/department-wide projects, or simple revenue numbers, we as employees have a good understanding of the company as an entity.
Cons
-Need more incentives for building a long-term career. Certain departments have incentives (sales), while others are left in the dust (tech). No 401(k) match.
-Compensation and performance reviews are largely vague and mysterious outside of manager 1:1s.
