Good experience for interns - Intern Genesis Project 1 Employee Review

Pros

As an intern, I was able to have a caseload of intensive in-home families, outpatient clients, practiced doing diagnostic assessments, attended workshops for motivational interviewing, CPR, systems of care, and cognitive behavioral therapy. It is a good experience for someone who is new to the mental health field.

Cons

Some challenges at this agency were centered around the professionalism of some of the employees. Also, the agency had some financial and funding difficulties that caused most employees to be laid off unfortunately.

Pros

The care of clients is a big benefit. The atmosphere is client driven and is based on the ability of helping others in the community.

Cons

Terribleeeeee place to work and grow. The communication is terrible and it is very disorganized. They allow terrible treatment of their co workers towards others and allow for the chaos and disorganization. They barely have clients but just hired 20 new people. They lost a major contract with MCO in Charlotte because of fraud. They also had a lawsuit against them in which they did not pay their workers. If you are trying to learn or advance you won't get your needs met here. Run far far away!!! They had another co worker disrespect another one and allowed that to occur without reprimanding the worker who was intake coordinator. Imagine if that is how she treats those that work there, imagine how they treat clients.
